Our trip continued as we landed in mountain biking mecca Moab, Utah for a few days. Our Colorado friends Aileen, Howdy and baby Jules joined us.

We hiked in Arches National Park on a very windy day. There are 2400 arches in the park; not enough room for all of them here!

Next day I planned a bike ride in and around Canyonlands National Park. I take full credit for this ride, which turned out to be the hardest off-road ride I'd ever done. Some 38 miles, 3500 feet of climbing, 6 hours. At mile 18 or so, there was a 1200 foot climb in less than a mile. Basically right up the canyon wall. I've never ridden so long in my granny gear, but I made it!

On our last day we hiked with Aileen, Howdy and Jules in Canyonlands...very near where we had ridden the day before.

Overlook - that dot is me! Enjoying the view Lunch break Desert backdrop
